I feel cheated out of this, we get a live feed of Aion and an hour later they bring up Guild Wars 2 and the camera pans to the people filming it...huge letdown. :/

The trailer will be no doubt up somewhere soon in better quality anyway, so I'm not too fussed. I was cracking up at the comments when the camera panned out over the crowd instead though.

Further thoughts:

Anet has organised and delivered a perfect PR on this event. People started to rage when the justintv feed turned to the crowd watching the trailer, but minutes later everyone enjoyed it in HD, with newsletter subscription up and running correctly.

They must have rehearsed and worked so hard for it, especially as it was 3am for the Anet people in the office!

Also, the build up to the trailer was nicely done, with artwork that we actually see in the trailer, and this quick game of showing only part of the artpiece.

GG Anet, I think you've won the heart of many GW1 fans.

After seeing this video I'm all of the sudden very excited for Guild Wars 2. I never really followed the news and updates on it, except for the first period, but after that I had let it pass me by.. Right now, I'm looking forward to it

Everything disappointment I ever felt with Guild Wars was blown to the wind with this trailer. It looks fantastic and has restored all my excitement about the franchise.

I think the day you get sexually aroused by a game trailer is the day you can call yourself a full phledged geek...

I hadn't been keeping up with GW news lately and wasn't expecting a trailer at Gamescon, so imagine my surprise when I checked the GW website earlier to find the trailer had been released.

And what a trailer it is, didn't expect quite so much in game footage from a first trailer - and the animated concept art was fantastic as well.

Would also be interested in a transcript of this Q&A session...
